It approved the recommendation to have IM Ibrahim Sultan, FM Ahmed Farid, and WIM Ahlam Rashid take part in the Arab Open Championship and the Arab Women’s Championship in Kuwait City. The staff also finalized the club’s internal and external activities calendar, including preparations for the Union Day Championship in early December 2025 and the Under-14 Open Junior Championship scheduled during the winter break from December 8 to 16, 2025, in addition to the blitz chess tournaments in September, October, and November, which the club is keen to organize for its members and players residing in Dubai.
The technical staff, headed by Technical Director Othman Moussa, also reviewed the main features of the 2026 activity and international participation program, including determining the date of the Dubai Open 2026 and reinstating the Dubai International Junior Championship on next year’s calendar. Executive Director Mohammed Al-Hussain and Player Affairs Officer Abdullah Ali were assigned to draft the 2026 activity roadmap, covering several internal and external events as well as community-based activities in collaboration with institutions and organizations across Dubai.
This plan will be discussed in the technical staff’s meeting in early October before being submitted to the Board of Directors for approval at its next session. The plan reflects the club’s ongoing efforts to promote chess culture and highlight its role as an educational and cultural tool that nurtures analytical and creative thinking among young people.
Through its upcoming tournaments and events, Dubai Chess Club is committed to realizing its vision of being a distinguished chess platform for resident players and amateurs of various nationalities and age groups.
