” Signature Chess Ultimate” Team Clinches Dubai Ramadan Chess Championship Trophy

The renowned Grand Masters, Guseinov, Gadir and his teammate Amonatov, Farrukh, of the ‘ Signature Chess Ultimate ‘ team secured victory at the Ramadan Blitz Teams Chess Tournament 2024, organized annually by the Dubai Chess and Culture Club during the blessed month of Ramadan. The championship witnessed the participation of 72 teams comprising 144 players from 29 nationalities, including 31 players with international titles, marking a record-breaking number of teams and participants.

In the final standings of the championship teams, the ‘ Signature Chess Ultimate ‘ team claimed the top spot with 19.5 points, led by Grandmaster Guseinov, Gadir from Azerbaijan and his teammate Amonatov, Farrukh from Tajikistan. Following closely was the UAE Chess Federation team, represented by our national team coaches, the Cuban GM                 Arencibia Rodriguez, Walter and the Turkish GM Erdogdu, Aziz Mert. The ‘Fujairah Masters’ team secured third place with 17.5 points, represented by the Serbian GM Miladinovic, Igor and Emirati FM Ammar, Sedrani. In fourth place was the ‘Moltov’ team, represented by the Egyptian GM Hesham, Abdelrahman and the IM Ameir, Moheb.

Special prizes were awarded by the organizing committee to the best participating teams in the championship. The ‘Queen Commanders’ team, consisting of the siblings AFM Muhammad, Shayan Noushad Ibrahim and AFM Muhammad, Saifan Noushad Ibrahim, won the Best Family Team award. ‘Nightmares’ team claimed the Best Dubai Chess Club team award, while the ‘ Sneaky Destroyers ‘ team secured the Best Under-16 Team award.

The closing ceremony and the crowning of the winners were attended by Othman Mousa, a board member of the club and head of the technical department, Mohamed Elhusseiny, the executive director, along with a large gathering of players and enthusiasts. The championship referees were headed by the IA Mehdi Abdelrahim, Councilor of Arbiters’ Commission at the International Chess Federation, Chairman of Arbiters Commission at the Asian Chess Federation, and IA ALTaher, Salman Tarek, accompanied by a group of local Arbiters.
